Just in case the holidays weren't stressful enough...

We decided to add a complete bathroom renovation to the mix. Yep, that's right. Nothing like having your bathroom gutted, your house covered with dust and your daughter taking all naps in the basement for the entire month of December (and January). I'm so excited we are finally doing it though; it just dawned on me that we leave tomorrow evening and the cabinets are being installed in the morning and the counter tops are being measured in the afternoon. I can't believe it didn't occur to me until now that having a major house project occur during the month of December could add to the stress surrounding the holidays. Everything has gone really well though and Marie is taking notes. She is my little helper and spent much time in my arms as I am talking to the various vendors. She has also made friends with our two contractors Lazslo and Henry. No work will be done while we are on vacation, which is probably best. It means I can truly relax while in Arizona and Mexico and not even have to think about it (which, truth be told, has kept me up a few nights). On more than one occasion I lie in bed thinking about the tile details, the paint color or where exactly the towel rod should go. A lot of mental energy has gone into this over the last 2.5 years and yes, I have been planning it for that long. I'll stop talking about it though and let you check out the picture slide show instead.
