JJ is 4 weeks old!
JJ is a great sleeper, so low and behold that is what he is doing in all these pictures. I actually tried to take some awake pictures after these... it didn't go so great. He hated the camera flash so I have a lot of pictures with bulging eyes and freaked out hands. I am going to try again tomorrow to catch him before he is tired. Hopefully I can get some pictures showing you his blue eyes and smile.
On a side note, I want JJ to be a thumb-sucker and I think he could be but it might take a little effort on our part. Mare is a paci girl and every time JJ has his paci (which is a lot), Marie wants hers too. For a while now, Marie has only had her at nap time or bedtime. For the most part, pacis are left in her crib and if she takes it out of her crib with her when she gets up, we tell her to put it back in the crib and she does. However, in the car when JJ has his paci, she wants one too. So this is one of the reasons I want JJ to be a thumb-sucker. The other reason is because lately we have been doing the "paci-push" with JJ. You know what I am talking about - having to run upstairs to push in the paci every 5-10 mins when a baby is trying to fall asleep because the paci falls out and they get really upset. I realize, though, that we can't keep pushing the paci if we want him to find his thumb. On the one hand, though, it is really easy to pop in the paci when he is fussing and he quickly calms down. You can't exactly force his thumb on him in the same way (right?). Any thoughts or advice on the paci vs. thumb debate? I hope I didn't just open a can of worms...

Els loves her thumb, but she usually just sucks on it to fall asleep. A few times I've tried to encourage her to put it in when she was sad and awake, and it made her furious.
I love that she loves her thumb now ... might be tougher to give it up in the end. Seems like they all just decide for themselves in the end.
