Thanksgiving...The aftermath

(Note: I am very frustrated with Blogger so please excuse the mis-match of text and pictures. I cannot for the life of me get it to work correctly.)
Well my sister, her husband and my two nieces just left. Wow, did we have fun! I don't think Marie has ever played so hard for a consecutive three days straight. I see an early nap and bedtime in her future. Here are the kids having fun...
JJ also loves his cousin Callie and his uncle Steve. He even prefer them over Auntie Kit.
As for our actually Thanksgiving meal, another wow! It was soooo yummy. I successfully cooked a turkey for the second time in my life and it was GOOD! I brined it in apple cider and spices. I will certainly do that again in the future. My brother-in-law said it was the best turkey he's had, I might agree but I don't want to offend anyone. I also successfully made gravy from scratch. And my sister made an amazing sweet potato casserole. It will definitely be a future Thanksgiving staple. So here's a picture of our feast. Sorry I didn't get a picture of the turkey before it was carved (which Dan and Steve did a wonderful job of).
Sorry this picture won't load with the correct orientation.
JJ has a new favorite food - cranberries. He LOVED, LOVED LOVED them.

The weather was so beautiful, we chose to eat on the deck. It was even a little hot.

And here are all the cooking dishes afterward - yikes!

I should also mention, it wasn't only the kids that had a lot of fun. Kit and I were at Toys R Us from 11 to 1:30 am Thanksgiving night and hit the mall Friday morning at 9 am. No, we weren't crazy enough to get up at 4 am, nor was there anything we wanted that badly. The boys got to have their fun too - they went out for hot dogs and to the shooting range. Parting Shot:
