The Kitchen Remodel has Begun!

It actually began about a month ago but it was all exterior stuff until this week. For example, they had to demo the old screen porch, excavate a ton of dirt (literally it filled an ENTIRE dumpster), pour concrete footers and a new slab and frame what will be a new guestroom under the additional space in the kitchen. On Monday they demo-ed the entire old kitchen. It is down to the studs! And today they are working on the framing for the addition and new screen porch. Here are a few photos: Say goodbye to the fun and funky green kitchen because it is long gone...The 'far' windows in this photo are our bay windows and the 'close' window is the slider above where our sink used to be. As you can see the green kitchen is So.Long.Gone.As part of this project we are also re-doing the powder room which is "behind" the kitchen. It's the second set of exposed studs with the white and black pipes. In case you were wondering, we moved all the living room furniture into the basement and have moved the kitchen into the living room. We will be using the (oh sooo very small) wetbar sink and had quite a time moving our huge fridge into this space as well. I'm finally feeling a bit more settled and know it will be a fine set up for the next 5 months. In addition to packing up the entire kitchen, I felt the need to add the Christmas boxes to the chaos and decided to decorate the tree and the outside of our house. If you are in the mood for some Christmas lights, drive through our neighborhood. Some of our neighbors have some great decorations and ours aren't bad either! I hope you are getting into the Christmas Spirit. I am trying to despite being totally distracted by the kitchen remodel.

Wow! Have you told the munchkins this is the ONLY time they can walk through walls? LOL. I particularly like that cute model in the "old" green kitchen! Can you be sure to incorporate her into the "new" one? Post pictures of the "temporary" kitchen. Gorgeous Christmas tree! Can't wait to see ya'll!
Love you! Nana
