Halloween

For Halloween, Marie was going to be Shirley Temple but in addition to being out of town, sick, having grandparents in town, I dragged my feet and didn't get her a dress. There is always next year, assuming her hair stays curly. So this year we were going to borrow a costume from her best friend Ellie but upon talking with her mother, I got an idea about how we could use a ballerina tutu Marie's cousin's gave her when she was born to transform her into a garden fairy. Add a few flower accessories and I think it worked pretty well - see below.
She was a little intimidated about taking candy from strangers but boy did she enjoy the treats. Her favorite was the suckers as you might have guessed from the pictures.
Later this week, I will post some pictures of the new nursery. It is almost done - mainly I just need to organize the closet a little bit. I will also try to post some Marie stories. She is a little parrot with an ever expanding vocabulary these days and so much fun.

ADORABLE!! I'm so sad we don't live next door so we could see her cute curly-headed self trick-or-treating at our door :(

She made a PERFECT garden fairy! Fabulous idea.

Why the heck wouldn't her hair stay curly?
