Our Little Boy's Nursery
Here is our little boy's room. Marie gets to keep her room (I just couldn't bare to paint over the lattice work and fleur-de-leyes I painstakingly created on one of her walls) and she isn't ready to move out of her crib yet. We did get her a dresser from Craigslist though (and adorned it with fancy crystal knobs) and moved the changing table to the new nursery. So the "new" nursery is everything "Alphabet Soup" by Cocalo. Yes, we do have just about everything in the collection (wall hangings, shelf, window valiance, growth chart, lamp, rug, laundry basket). I bought it all together as a giant set, think of it as "a nursery in a bag" and got 30% off of it as a result. I hope he likes animals. Marie enjoys hanging out in her brother's room and loves to read with me in the new glider (which I invite anyone who comes by to test out for themselves - it is FABULOUS!).
So in addition to getting the new nursery all set up, I have been nesting. The best example of this is today, even though there are all kinds of projects I want to get done before out little boy comes (his diaper bag, Marie's baby book, reupholster a children's chair for Marie, a roman shade for our year old bathroom, organization for the craft area in the basement, the list goes on and on) I spent my afternoon shampooing our carpets. I am grateful I was able to borrow a friends shampoo vacuum (thanks Brea) but really, is this how I should have spent my Saturday? I have 3 rooms to do tomorrow - yippee! Oh well. It is satisfying to dump out the nasty, dirty water though and feel like you really are getting your carpets clean. Now if only my sewing machine could magically put together the rest of my son's diaper bag.

I was wondering who had our steam cleaner! I've completely lost track of it. :) So glad you were able to get in some nesting with it!
