Breakfast with Santa

Today at Marie's "school", they hosted a breakfast with Santa. Marie donned the only Christmas dress she will wear this year (expect to see her in it on Christmas Eve and maybe even another Christmas Party) and we headed out but first got this cute picture with Daddy.
The highlight of the breakfast was "donuts" - really munchkins but Marie LOVES them and associates them with Daddy because of our frequent Dunkin Donut stops on the way to church. Sometimes the two of them even get to go on a Saturday morning as a special treat.
And when it came to meeting Santa... this is as close as she got, safe in Nana's arms but willing to feel Santa's soft cuffs at Nana's suggestion. Lastly, my favorite (and not because you can see just how ridiculously huge and pregnant I am) - we tried one more time to get a picture with Santa and she clung to me for dear life. Perhaps next year she will be interested and we can do a picture evolution of Marie's Santa interactions.

On a Christmas related note, Ellie's mom was the first person we know to put up a Christmas tree and decorate so every since then anytime Marie sees a Christmas Tree, she says "Chismas Tree, Ellie's" - and this was even the case in our own house, in our own living room with the tree she helped us pick out and decorate. Oh well. She also LOVES the Christmas lights and gets upset when we pull into the driveway at night. Typically her refrain is "No, no, no! Lights. More lights."

On a very random side note, the diaper bag is DONE! So if that is what our son was waiting for, he really can come anytime now. We are all very ready for him.
