Do you see what I see?

Albeit, you have to look pretty closely. But a pair of multi-colored heart rainboots can be seen as one curly-haired little girl kneels at the picnic table eating her "frozen" yogurt (tubed go-gurt from our freezer). And here the same little girl, rainboots and all, swings super-woman style (but she doesn't yet understand this reference) on our swing. She either swings "like this way" or "on my bottom". Regarding her bottom, while we are potty-training and Marie has done wonderfully and I would basically say she is potty-trained, she has not peed her pants in this picture. I gave her the okay to go down our slide not knowing there was a small puddle of water at the bottom from the previous days' rain. I know she was surprised by the sensation and I think she was also shocked that I had let this happen to her. Oops, now I know - sweep off the end of our slide if it has recently rained. Yes, our slide.. and our swings... and the project that has consumed nearly all my time and energy in the past week and a half. We bought a giant wooden playset on Craiglist almost 2 weeks ago. It took 5 men to move and it was even separated into 4 parts. I felt a bit guilty as I watched the men move it from a trailer and luge it down into our backyard. I think I'm over it now though because I have put countless hours into refurbishing it and I hope and anticipate each of those men's children will get some enjoyment from our playset. So what exactly has refurbishing entailed? Well, in "typical Laura fashion" (I have used that phrase on this blog before) I have pressure washed it - (see the roof photo below), applied a deck cleaner & brightener, scrubbed parts of it with a mild bleach solution and sanded nearly the whole thing. Tomorrow, I hope to stain it and finish painting the roof red. Yes, I am painting the roof red. (Why do I always find it necessary to embellish things?) Hopefully it will officially be done by the end of the weekend. Look for before and after pictures coming soon. On a side note, I LOVE, love, LOVE pressure washing. Who knew it could be so much fun? It is a truly gratifying experience to have something so dirty, get so clean, so quickly right before your eyes. I want a pressure washer for my birthday - no, really, I'm serious. I am borrowing one from a friend but I would love to own one so that anytime I feel the need to pressure wash, I am just a hose and outlet away from cleaning satisfaction.

Can't wait to see the finished product - in typical Laura fashion, I know it will be fabulous!
